Event organisers can now be equipped with handheld credit card swiping devices with an integrated bar code scanner that is a wireless extension of their CCN online registration and merchandise store. These clever scanning and swiping devices cradle an Iphone 4 and can work anywhere with cell coverage or in range of wireless internet.
Buying merchandise? Making a donation? Or perhaps you're registering on the day or for next year's event? With a swipe of your credit card, you sign the screen and receive email confirmation immediately. It's paperless, secure and fast.
The barcode scanning feature can be utilized for identifying products or matching the sale to an individual rider by the barcode on their wrist band or race plate.
Not only will this make it easier for riders to pay on the day using a secure payment process, it significantly reduces stress and risk for the organizer who is storing credit card information or lots of cash. A receipt is instantly emailed to the rider confirming their transaction and their transaction history can be viewed when they log in to their CCN account. Cool eh?
